How Lotto and Lotto Plus work
Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 all use the same simple format. You pick 6 numbers from 1 to 52 on one board. The three draws are separate, each with its own numbers pulled and its own prize pool, but you play the same 6 numbers across all three.
- Pick 6 numbers from 1 to 52 on a board. You can choose your own or take a Quick Pick for random numbers.
- Pay R5 for the main Lotto board. Play more boards for more chances, but never spend more than you can afford to lose.
- Opt in to Lotto Plus 1 for an extra R2.50 a board if you want a second draw on the same numbers.
- Opt in to Lotto Plus 2 for another R2.50 a board for a third draw on the same numbers.
- Buy before the cut-off, which is a short while before the Wednesday and Saturday evening draw.
- Keep your ticket or your online slip safe. You need it to claim a prize.
Good to know. Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 are not automatic. You must tick each one and pay the extra R2.50 per board for each. A full board with both Plus draws costs R10, and it enters your 6 numbers into all three draws.
